As with many robotic vacuums the X8 Hybrid has some issues with floors that are bare. It may miss fur and small objects and tends to bump things, such as its charger on the charging platform. It's not as quiet, and the whirring sound could be distracting as other models.

This model isn't as feature-rich as some of the more expensive models we evaluated however, it does have all the basics. It has a big dust bin that can hold a lot of dirt before needing to be cleaned. The mop and vacuum system is ideal for carpets and hard floors with a low pile. It's also very quiet and we could watch television while it was cleaning without feeling like it was blasting us with noise.

Our testers were impressed by how simple it was to set up and use, and were amazed by its ability to get all the mess off their floors. It even did a pretty excellent job of removing pet hair and messes from carpeting, though it wasn't as successful in tackling stubborn stuck-on staining. The app was easy to use and user-friendly. They were able schedule the vacuum to clean frequently to cut down on manual work. It doesn't have any mapping or object avoidance technology, so it isn't able to be used to send specific rooms or follow virtual borders (though magnetic boundaries are compatible).

It's also very quiet and comes with a massive dust bin that can hold lots of debris before it needs emptying, so you don't have to worry about regularly emptying it.
